Ross & Simone have one of those picture-perfect love stories and are so much fun to be around. Simone’s lively and loves to laugh and Ross is kind, patient, and really loves Simone. They make a wonderful pair. They’ve known each other since the fifth grade and have been together a long time.  And they’re planning a little backyard wedding in their hometown of Chicago next fall.

These photos were taken in neighborhoods near their DC home — SouthWest (where we found the amazingly vibrant Blind Whino Arts Club, Navy Yard and Eastern Market — some of the most colorful places in town. The more I live here, the more I love everything this city has to offer. A big thank-you to R&S for helping me discover a few new favorites!

It was such a treat to visit and photograph this adorable couple.  Kate + Erin met in college and fell in love shortly after. They’ve been together for a few years and!! are so in sync with each other that when they walk, they walk in step with the other. See what I mean? They’re perfect. And we are so excited to see them again next June for their wedding celebration!!

It was an absolute honor to play a small part in Kelly + Logan’s beyond gorgeous celebration.  These two are a match made in heaven and their wedding day was the perfect combination of both of their sweet personalities.  Kelly had an ear-to-ear smile on her face all day and savored every moment while Logan simply lit up the moment he saw his breathtaking bride-to-be.

We truly enjoyed spending the day with Kelly + Logan and it was also a treat working side-by-side with Cher Goggins from MerryMe! Events (our very favorite wedding vendor).  She and her fabulous team were responsible for every beautiful detail included in this special day and I have to say that these are among my favorite details from any wedding I’ve ever seen.  (And we’ve been to over 200 weddings!)  Take a look at these photos and let us know what you think. Below you will find some of my proudest work. 🙂

You may remember this sweet couple from their engagement session last fall.  Marie, a grad from St. Mary’s College, and Andrew from the University of Notre Dame  met a few years ago and decided to have their wedding celebration back where it all began.

Their special day was full of surprises including a random down-pouring of rain that disappeared as quickly as it arrived. These two were surrounded by such wonderfully fun friends and family which made for a really beautiful day.

Andy + I also had the pleasure of working alongside Northernlight Filmworks for the first time and their same-day edit video for Marie + Andrew was breathtaking!  Take a look at that here!  Now on to the photos!

We on the east coast have had some crazy unusual weather lately — ninety degrees one day, thunderstorms the next! Mother Nature took no leave of absence for Sarah & Jason’s US Naval Academy wedding in Annapolis, Maryland.  (be sure to check out their adorable engagement session from last fall — complete with lots of sunshine, I might add! 😉 ) We’re talking non-stop, sideways, monsoon-like rain all. day. long. Except it stopped for just a few brief moments after the ceremony, just long enough for the bride and groom to leave the service and enter the archway of swords. The two stopped to kiss and then passed through, completing the symbolic safe passage into marriage.

The weather just couldn’t dampen this couple’s spirit. As you’ll notice in the photos below, they had nothing but smiles on their faces the entire day. They were just so excited to be together and to finally be married that a little (okay, a lot) of bad weather didn’t get them down.  They had the most hilarious group of friends + super supportive family and they made Andy + I feel right at home.

We also had the opportunity to work with some of our favorite wedding professionals in the field — Jet & Dani Kaiser of Jet Kaiser Films.  We’ve had the pleasure of working with these two since 2009 and it’s always a treat to spend a wedding day with them. Jet was just nominated and WON two Emmy Awards for his incredible work on a film in Indianapolis. So needless to say Sarah & Jason will be getting the best wedding video ever! 🙂 On to the photos!
