KAT + REX

I’m not positive what the process is for other wedding photographers, but for me, personally, the blog-post usually takes me around 24 hours from start-to-finish to construct.  First, I choose my very favorite photo from the whole day — one in which I can feel the emotion + the excitement, and I post that photo to my Facebook page.  Then, I take a look at the details — the flowers, the shoes, the dress, and everything in between.  Third, I usually go through and choose the photos I feel best represent the couple’s family + friends — the people that are most important to them, other than each other.  Then, on to the getting-ready shots, the reception, and finally, I take a look at the ceremony.

I save the ceremony for last, always, because I carefully go through every.single.photo and spend several seconds studying the faces of the people involved + the emotions behind them.  It’s only then (usually a few weeks after the wedding took place!) that I can truly get a feel for how the entire wedding day fit together, and from what perspective I feel I can present my images.

To Kat + Rex,  the focus of the day was truly on coming together and unifying in Christ.  Traditional hymns like Be Thou My Vision + In Christ Alone were performed during the prelude, and Kat walked down the aisle with her dad to Take My Life (Here Am I), and the lyrics are “Here am I, all of me. Take my life, it’s all for Thee.”  Their wedding day wasn’t about the fragrant pink flowers + gorgeous decor (all fabulously provided by the amazing Merry Me! Events), it wasn’t about their stunning reception at the Palais Royale.  And it wasn’t even about the way they wanted the day to appear in their photographs or in their video (Jet + Dani Kaiser of Kaiser Productions, they’re the best).  No, today, these two made the decision to make a commitment and to center their new life on God.  It was written in their vows, it was sung in their hymns, and it could be seen for a mile on their faces.  We have never seen a couple more excited to begin their life together. I couldn’t believe that, as I was selecting these photos, they were smiling.  All day.  The entire! day! You’ll see in the images below, what I’m talking about, when you study the way they’re looking at each other.  What a way to start!

Kat + Rex, we truly feel that it’s been an honor to be part of your wedding today.  Thank you so much for allowing us to witness such an awesome beginning.  We wish you two the best, always.  xoxo, A+A

ALEX

Happy Mother’s Day!   We hope the moms out there had a wonderful day with their families!  The weather was absolutely perfect today!  Andy + I enjoyed our lunch out on the patio with a nice little breeze to keep us company.  We thought it’d be appropriate to post Alex’s senior photos tonight because we know his mom has been really excited to see them!  So, consider it a little Mother’s Day present from A+A:)

Alex is really into music and is making plans to someday own his own recording studio.  In the meantime, he plans to begin studying Music Media Production this fall at Ball State and play his guitar on the side.  Alex loves all kinds of different music, his favorite being ‘retro’ albums like Blink 182 + Greenday, (which made us laugh because Andy + I also loved those bands in high school).  We’re excited to see his plans for the future!  We introduce to our blog for the first time…Alex!

Alex!  We had so much fun with you today!  Thanks for all the laughs:)  We hope you have a fabulous summer and an exciting start to your next adventure!  xoxo, A+A

INTRODUCING… QUICK PICS

Hellooooo!  Thanks for popping by our blog today!   Andy + I were doing some thinking the other night over some peanut butter toast, and we discussed all the life events that get special photographs: seniorsengagement, wedding, maternity, baby, family (and sometimes in a different order!) But what about the in-between times?  When you’re in between milestones, would love to have some special photos taken, but maybe you don’t need a full session or a hundred+ photos on a disc?

Introducing… QUICK PICS, by A+A.   Perhaps you’re in need of a new, professional-looking LinkedIn photo for your profile. (Or maybe you just want a hip new photo of yourself for your facebook page!?) Maybe you just got a new boyfriend and you’re really excited to show him off to your friends, but want to make sure you look cute in the photo! What if you just found out you’re pregnant, and you’d like a photo of your + your spouse before the baby bump?  And before you become parents?!  You might want a professional photo of your daughter before her senior prom in that gorgeous sparkly dress! Maybe you just got a new haircut and you happen to be wearing a cute outfit, and you’d love to treat yourself to a nice photo that your kids will remember?   OR!  You might be married, have kids, and the last time you had a photo of just you + your spouse was 20 years ago, at the altar of your wedding!?  Perhaps you’re along a weight-loss journey and you’d like a photo to mark your achievement?! Or, you just announced your retirement and you’d love a photo of you + your spouse that you can send to your friends in your Christmas letter!

The possibilities are ENDLESS!  Let’s think outside the box!  We would love to be a part of this special time in your life!
