DRESS FOR A CAUSE

Why hello!  Betcha been wonderin’ what we’ve been up to lately!  Don’t worry, you’re about to find out! Hold tight for juuust a moment.

Andy + I had a few moments of downtime this winter (did I say “winter?” because we sort of skipped that season altogether here in Indy!) and, after a family meeting, we decided that in order to keep things fresh + fun, we’re accepting just a limited number of sessions for 2012.  What does this mean?

It means!  Exciting adventures are just around the corner for us and! You’ll be seeing some new sessions from amanda fales photography!  So stay tuned!

Are you ready for some photos?! Our first assignment of the new year was to photograph some of last season’s designer wedding gowns that were donated by a local organization. The proceeds will be directly benefiting a ministry dedicated to rescuing girls out of human trafficking. So please! Help us spread the word and raise some funds + awareness for a good cause!

A special thanks to Eyemax by Kiralee for providing her amazing talents with makeup + hair, to the fabulous Becca Kendrick for assisting and!  a very special thanks to all of our lovely models!  NOW! On to the photos!

For purchasing info, please stop by and “like” our facebook page!   We’ll be posting more dresses in the coming weeks!  Until then! xoxo, A+A

EMILY + JAMES

I’m peeking out my office window as snow softly falls on the bare branches outside.  Lo and behold, winter is here.  What a perfect day to share with you the wedding of Emily + James (you might remember them from their adorable apple orchard engagement session this fall).

James + Emily were married at the gorgeous, newly restored Indiana Landmarks Center and their reception was at the Columbia Club on the Circle downtown. Both venues completely suited their classic, elegant event.  The day was immaculate, just a little chilly with a light December breeze, and all details were set. But what happens if, on this perfect wedding day, you get the flu?

If you’re Emily + James, you improvise. Andy + I watched the day unfold in awe. We have never, in our career (140+ weddings), seen a couple handle a situation with such humility and poise.  They opted to see each other in the morning, and a few minutes into our photos, James wasn’t feeling well.  But he pressed on with a smile on his face. No one but his close family knew that something was wrong.

And then came the ceremony.  The music started, the groomsmen filed in, the mothers lit the candles.  Each bridesmaid made their way down the aisle, and then Emily + her father, as planned.  But when it was time to exchange vows, Emily looked at James and whispered, “Are you OK?” He shook his head and his father raced to his side before his knees hit the floor.  Then Emily sat with him, her hand on his shoulder, and they continued the ceremony, seated. She held James’s face in her hands, looked him in the eyes and repeated, “in sickness and in health, I will love and honor you all the days of my life.”  Then they were announced, to a standing ovation, and continued on as husband + wife.

Without a doubt, this was the most meaningful beginning to a marriage we’ve witnessed.

One more thing I’ll mention:  Emily’s father works for IPL and arranged to have the building lights make the shape of the heart for a few hours until their reception started.:)

What more can we say?  We adore you both.  Thank you so much, for everything.  We’re lucky to know you.:) xoxo, A+A

Without further ado, meet Amy + Blake; an oh-so-cute couple that we just know you’ll just fall in love with!

While I was busy posing + shooting from this angle…

Becca quick snapped this one from her view.  We LOVE!

Amy + Blake – thank you both for enduring the chilly Indiana temperatures with us today!   We’re jealous of your short-sleeves + iced beverages in Tampa!
